There is a great number of outstanding and "must-have" selections of Epimedium but 'The Giant' is the ultimate. Only just discovered in 2001 by Darrell Probst (who else?) and introduced in 2007 ($500 each!), this yet to be named species sports flower stems 4-5 feet and more if staked and in "good standing". According to Diana Reeck there are up 1000 flowers per stalk (I'll check on that once I'm retired). Unique to this species, the flower stalks keep on growing and growing, thus producing more and more flowers. These are medium-sized, creamy-yellow with a bronze cup. Evergreen and clumping.
