Deep violet blue flowers on slender stems
Availability: In stock

One of the most beautiful US native and quite rare, found only in a few Northern California counties and a handful of places in the Southern Oregon Siskiyou Mountains. Unlike most other taller US native gentians, the 1-1/2" to 2" long trumpet-flowers of G. setigera open all the way, in a deep violet blue, on slender stems. While in the wild they grow in boggish and wetland conditions, in the garden average moist soil will do as long as it's a cooler site. Needs acidic soil.
