We were on the hunt for the elusive Dierama 'Blackbird' for years. We could only "source" them in seed form and after sowing countless batches over years, we didn't end up with single plant that resembled 'Blackbird'. However, in the process we ended up with this dark violet seedling. The bell-shaped flowers are as big as they come in Dierama and so are the stems, reaching up to 7 feet in length! Overall a strong grower and not as fickle as many species, but it's still a Dierama. These are divisions, which take a long time just to get a few.
