These are seedlings of 'Baerli'; there is some variation from plant to plant. Bärli (little bear) was Heidi's dog. More fuzzy than your regular Edelweiss but fortunately not more fussy. My wife Victoria pointed out that seedling out to me, I had noticed it, too, but the "fuzzies" are usually not good candidates for divisions.
